Man wanted in Norfolk homicide arrested

A man wanted in a July homicide in Norfolk was arrested in the city Tuesday evening, police said. Theron Hammond, 33, who was wanted on charges of second degree murder, malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, was taken into custody in the 7600 block of Gifford Street, according to Norfolk Police, who were assisted by a U.S. Marshals Task Force during the arrest. Hammond was wanted in the July 26 shooting death of 31-year-old Jarrod E. Lamb. Police were called to the 400 block of Chapel Street just before 4 a.m., where they found Lamb suffering from a gunshot wound.
