The Virginia Department of Health urged that there is still plenty of time to get the vaccination, available in a shot, or in a nasal spray — the latter is reserved for healthy people ages 2 to 49 — as the season typically doesn't peak until February and can last until May. It takes about two weeks after the shot for full protection to kick in.
