Park Ridge news briefs: Maine South presents 'Candide,' East honors vets

Maine South presents 'Candide' Maine South High School will present its fall play, "Candide," on Friday and Saturday in the auditorium of the Park Ridge school, 1111 S. Dee Road. "Candide" is an adaptation of the Voltaire comedy involving the title character, Candide, who is "banished for romancing the baron's daughter, only to be beset by a series of absurd hardships in a journey through nine countries that challenges his optimistic outlook of life and love," the school said in a press release.
