Eight gifted student-artists of The Glenholme School, a therapeutic boarding school for students with special needs, are participating in Northwest CT Chamber Education Foundation's ALL ABOARD!! Litchfield County collaborative art project to support the community, encourage tourism, and increase the visibility of local artists and establishments, all while helping to build a strong sense of community.

ALL ABOARD!! Litchfield County raises funds through this extraordinary opportunity to support Northwest Connecticut's Chamber Education Foundation and KidsPlay Museum. The program invited community members and businesses to participate by adopting a fiberglass All Aboard!! train engine, caboose or even a pair as a canvas on which to create a unique work of art. Glenholme accepted an engine and the students' designed their masterpiece, "A Ride Through the Countryside," to incorporate many incredible places across Litchfield County.

Completed trains will be displayed throughout Litchfield County from August through October. Art lovers, train enthusiasts and area tourists will be able to find Glenholme's train stationed at Marty's Cafe in Washington Depot.

Once the community exhibition period ends, train-adopters will have the opportunity to retain ownership and possession of their creation by purchasing their works of art. The remaining Train Cars will be auctioned off in November. The funds will support the two collaborating non-profit organizations and their efforts in promoting a thriving and healthy community.

The Chamber Education Foundation, founded in 2007, provides initiatives and educational programs benefitting the region. KidsPlay Children's Museum is a destination for young children located in the center of downtown Torrington. It is a new and developing museum with an array of enjoyable, hands-on displays that promote play and interaction.

The visual arts program at Glenholme is a fundamental element in each student's daily life at school. Students learn and develop leadership and social skills through the enjoyment of art activities and the ALL ABOARD!! Litchfield County is a wonderful opportunity for students to collaborate on a joint art effort which supports their community.
