What To Watch
Best in nation? Porter has entered the conversation for national player of the year after a huge game against Syracuse. UConn will probably use Daniels and Giffey to guard him, but will need a team approach to really contain him.
Patience, patience: Georgetown uses a unique offense, usually taking all of the clock each possession. The onus on UConn's defense will be to work right to the end, easier said than done.
Injury front: UConn has its share of bumps and bruises as the final weeks of the regular season grind on. Calhoun is fighting through a wrist injury, with no time to rest. Others, such as Napier (foot) and Giffey (knee) have soreness to deal with.
Don't be coy: Although Big East coaches, according to a recent poll by SNY, favor John Thompson III for coach of the year, one would assume that Kevin Ollie would vault into more serious consideration should UConn pull this upset. And you know players talk about such things.
Gampel factor: This is the biggest game of the season at Gampel Pavilion, which is the venue of choice for most of the players and, of course, UConn students. Look for a packed house and a very high decibel level. "It can be devastating for an opponent," Napier said.
