The 16th Annual Ted Hershey Dance & Music Marathon Concert will be held Saturday, April 12, 7 p.m., at the Charter Oak Cultural Center in Hartford.
The annual event features dance companies, choreographers and schoolfropm around the state.
This ywear the shgiw will feature: Caribbean American Dance Company, Cultural Dance Troupe of the West Indies, DANCENLIGHT, Dance Department at the Hartt Community Division, Dance Workshop at Miss Porter's School, Deborah Goffe and Scapegoat Garden, The Ensemble of Judy Dworin Performance Project, Figments Youth Dance Ensemble, Full Force Dance Theatre, Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, The Hartt School, INERTIA Dance Company, Island Reflections Dance Theatre company, Lao-American Arts & Culture of CT, The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory, O'D N' TAP, Sankofa Kuumba, Spectrum in Motion, Sumbhaav School of Kathak Dance, TNMOT-AZTRO and Works/Laura Glenn Dance. Also alumni Brad Roth, Bonita Weisman, Yueh Ching Chung and Paul Dennis.
The show celebrates the life and work of Ted Hershey, principal dancer with Hartford Ballet and co-founder of Works Contemporary Dance, who died of AIDS in 1998.
