Yale Center for British Art, 1080 Chapel St. in New Haven, presents its annual exhibit curated by undergraduates in the Yale Student Guide Program, “Art in Focus: St. Ives Abstraction, opening with a reception on Friday, April 12, at 4 p.m., and running until Sunday, Sept. 29.
The show features the work of artists living in St Ives, Cornwall, produced during the mid-20th century. This is Barbara Hepworth’s 1963 bronze sculpture “Sphere with Inner Form.”
Other artists on exhibit are Trevor Bell, Sandra Blow, Terry Frost, Patrick Heron, Roger Hilton, Peter Lanyon, John Minton, Ben Nicholson, and John Wells.
Tours of the show will be offered on Saturday, April 13, and Sunday, April 14, at at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Regular museum hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
