“Abstract Recycling, The Offsite Show,” a third annual exhibit of found-object works made from recycled stuff, will be at Provenance Center, 165 State St. in New London.
In previous years, the show was held at the North Stonington Transfer Station.
The opening reception will be Saturday, Aug. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. The show will run until Saturday, Sept. 21.
A gallery release says the show’s goal is “highlighting issues of environmental awareness and the use of discarded materials in the creation of art. ... The artists have used these materials to make a statement about the amount of waste we generate, where we put it, how it affects and how we react to it.
The reception for this exhibit also is the last chance to see “The Essence of Intention: Mindfulness, Elegance and Energy in Tai Chi Chuan,” an exhibit of photos by David Fryburg.
