Look, those people who are providing health care for their employees are businessmen and women. They are going to get the best value they can for whatever they need. They have no financial incentive to comply. Why didn’t the Obamacare planners make that fine $20,000 per employee? Make it a bargain to insure the staff.
I confess I lost interest in the Obamacare battle when the president dropped the single payer option. As it is now, Obamacare has been compromised into near collapse. Too many chefs spoil the broth and I’m concerned that this broth might taste like canal water.
I still say we study the single-payer programs that work in the world and adapt them to our culture. We’ll all be better off. If health insurance was coming from a quasi-government operation, no employer would have to provide it. We’d all be covered and companies would save money. Alas, it is not to be, not yet anyway. I think someday we will have it though. It’s heading that way.
