College: Hampton; How Acquired: Free Agent 2010

PRO CAREER: Hole-plugging defensive lineman joins Colonials for his first UFL campaign… Comes to Hartford after spending time with the Denver Broncos… Signed as an undrafted free agent by Denver in 2009, was released on cut-down day after training camp in 2010… Saw action in one game with the Broncos as a rookie.

COLLEGE: Started eight of 11 games played in 2008, and led Hampton in sacks (8.5), tackles for loss (16.5) and quarterback hurries (13)… His 69 total tackles ranked third on the team… Started as a sophomore at Penn State in 2007, and had 4.5 sacks and 43 tackles (21 solo) in 20 games in 2006-07 for the Nittany Lions.

PERSONAL: Prepped at Windsor (Conn.) High … In 2009, joined with the American Cancer Society to lead a Christmas gift giveaway for children with cancer.

PRO CAREER: Physical defensive back brings NFL experience to the Hartford Colonials… Played in six regular season games with the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers in 2008, recording 15 tackles… Also spent parts of the 2009 NFL season with the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns.

COLLEGE: Was a two-year starter at Georgia and earned All-Conference honors as a senior in 2006 after recording 58 tackles… Also earned third-team All-American honors… Registered 71 stops as a junior in 2005… First college interception came in the season opener in 2005 against Boise State.

PERSONAL: Born in Forsyth, Georgia… Earned All-Middle Georgia honors from the Macon Telegraph as a senior at Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, Georgia… Was a four-year starter at quarterback and free safety, leading his school to the state championships playoffs each season… Also played basketball and ran track… Competed in the state championships in the 300 hurdles, 110 hurdles, 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

PRO CAREER: Former Australian Rules Football player joins the Hartford Colonials as a free agent for the 2010 UFL season… Originally entered the NFL as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins on March 3, 2009 but was released on June 15, 2009… Hooked up with the New York Giants on March 18, 2010… Waived on June 21, 2010.

COLLEGE: Did not play college football but trained for two years in preparation for an assault on the professional gridiron ranks… Was mentored by former San Diego Chargers All-Pro punter and fellow Aussie Darren Bennett… Worked alongside NFL punter Sav Rocca.

PERSONAL: Born in Melbourne, Australia… Father, Graeme, played Aussie Rules Football for the Richmond Tigers… Jy was drafted by the Tigers under the club's father/son rule but did not play senior football for the team.
