Tobe Carberry will be named an assistant coach under Howie Dickenman on the Central Connecticut men's basketball team, according to a source.

Carberry, a graduate of Hillhouse High in New Haven, has spent the last four years as an assistant at the University of New Haven. He was previously an assistant for three years at Southern Connecticut.

Carberry played at the University of Vermont, graduating in 2000, and professionally overseas and in the U.S. for five years afterward.

All three of Dickenman's assistants resigned this offseason. Sean Ryan, Steve Treffiletti and Jamaal Wagner have been replaced by Carberry, Obie Nwadike and Greg Collucci.

The Blue Devils (11-19 last season) open against Fairfield Nov. 14 in the Connecticut 6 Classic at Quinnipiac.
