Tamra Johnson
Tamra joined FOX 17 in February 2010 working behind the scenes with the morning news team. In March 2011 she stepped in front of the camera as the morning news reporter. You can watch her weekday mornings from 5-9 a.m.

Before coming to Grand Rapids, Tamra was a student reporter for Focal Point News while completing her Master's degree in Journalism at Michigan State University. She was also the anchor, reporter, and segment producer for an entertainment news show on WOLV TV. The student run station is located on the campus of the University of Michigan, where Tamra received her Bachelor's degree in Communications. She also served as an intern with WXYZ Channel 7 News in Detroit and WLAJ ABC 3 in Lansing.

As a military brat, it's hard to pin point home for Tamra. She was born in Las Vegas, NV. Then spent majority of her childhood in Honolulu, HI before moving to Michigan to attend high school. While admitting she often misses the warm weather and sandy beaches of Oahu, the beauty of Michigan's four seasons is unmatched. When not covering the news, Tamra loves spending time with friends, exploring new restaurants, and traveling. She also has a guilty pleasure for all things reality TV and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
