Chef Gordon Ramsay's Super Bowl Recipes

Score a touchdown by preparing these Gordon Ramsay-approved Super Bowl Specialties!

Gordon's Super Bowl Chili:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 4 tsp sweet paprika
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 red chili peppers, deseeded (keep half seeds if you like spice!)
  • 6 tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • 2 14oz tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 whole Chipotle chili in adobo sauce, chopped
  • 2 14oz cans of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 sprigs thyme leaves, roughly chopped (1 tsp dried)
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chives chopped
  • Prepared white rice to serve 4-6
  1. Season meat with salt and pepper in heavy based large saucepan.  Brown meat over medium heat, remove from pot and set aside.
  2. Pour in olive oil, sautee onion, garlic, and chili.
  3. Add dried spices to onion mixture and cook until they release their aroma.
  4. Add fresh & canned tomatoes, tomato paste, and 1 whole chipotle chili in adobo sauce, and cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Return beef to the pot.
  6. Add the beans, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, thyme.  Mix well and reduce heat to simmer.
  7. Pour in the broth.
  8. Bring to a boil and turn heat down to simmer.
  9. Cook for 20-25 mins or until sauce reaches desired consistency.  Stir frequently.
  10. Taste and check for seasoning.  Prepare rice.
  11. Mix chives and sour cream together.
  12. Remove cinnamon Sticks and bay leaves.
  13. Serve by spooning chili into center of a mound of rice, sour cream & chives in a side bowl.
