Kilwin's Recalling Peanut Butter Fudge

Kilwin's Fudge, which recently opened a downtown Grand Rapids location, has announced a recall of fudge due to possible contamination.

The fudge, a sugar free peanut butter variety in a 7 ounce package, was sold between October 1 and October 5, 2012. The peanut butter used to make the fudge comes from Sunland, Inc. which has recalled their product due to the possible salmonella contamination.

Affected bar codes are: bar code 000648, lots 67936, 67105, 66959, 66413, 66248, 65123, 63124, 62693, 62612, 61658, and 61621.

The product comes in either a light beige box with a small window area, or a black and white box with a small window area and a yellow sicker across the top corner that states "Sugar-Free". The lot code can be found on the box label, just to the left of the bar code.

Many states, including Michigan, are affected by the recall.

So far, no illnesses have been reported with the product. The product can be returned for a full refund.
