Q: I recently had lunch at Table 42 in Boca Raton. Their food was so good. I ended the great meal with their Key lime pie. It was the best Key lime pie I have ever had. Could you please try to get the recipe for me? I have tried numerous times to replicate it and I have not been able to. — Tracy Hall, Lighthouse Point
A: This pie has been on the menu at Table 42 (399 SE Mizner Blvd., Boca Raton; 561-826-2625; table42boca.com) since opening day, but the recipe has been tweaked slightly along the way, according to pastry chef Jackson Rogers. The frozen component was literally an accident that stuck while trying out a new recipe and wanting a just-baked filling to set up and cool quickly. The addition of lemon, orange and lime flavors also sets this classic recipe apart from others.
Q: Occasionally we dine at Bonefish Grill. Each time we get the mussels and the house salad. Both are great. Is it possible to get the recipe for the broth that is put in the bowl with the mussels? I have tried to make it and cannot get the ingredients to blend and taste the same. — Mary King, Parkland
A: I've also had their mussels and loved them. But, after reaching out to a local managing partner umpteen times and to regional partners repeatedly with no response, I had to opt for a copycat recipe I found online and tweaked. Make sure you have a crusty loaf of bread at the ready to sop up all of the delicious sauce. And don't forget to put extra bowls on the table for empty shells.
