Chuck Van Buskirk never knew that freshwater fishing could be so good.
Fishing Tuesday with his son Kyle and his grandkids Reagan, 9, and Wyatt, 6, together they caught and released at least 100 peacock and largemouth bass up to nearly 6 pounds in a four-hour trip at Lake Ida with Capt. Bill Lepree.
"I don't think I've tried freshwater fishing in 20 years," said Van Buskirk, of Deerfield Beach. "And if I caught two bass in five hours, I'd be happy.
"At times we had four fish on and a lot of threes. I'm still in awe of it."
