Will Smith

Will Smith has had a mostly steady career in music and movies since breaking onto the scene in the 1980s as the Fresh Prince. As a student growing up in West Philadelphia, Smith teamed up with friend Jeff Townes and formed DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. The group's biggest hit was "Parents Just Don't Understand," which earned them the first Grammy for Best Rap Performance. Smith went on to star in NBC's "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air," which was loosely based on his life. He also met his wife Jada Pinkett through the show. Smith continued in music as a solo artist with the albums "Big Willie Style," "Willennium," "Born to Reign" and "Lost and Found." But Smith's biggest success has been in films. With so many summer blockbusters under his belt, including "Independence Day" and "Men in Black," Fourth of July weekend has been nicknamed Big Willie Weekend. Smith shows his range in more dramatic films such as "Six Degrees of Separation," "Ali" and "The Pursuit of Happyness." He has received Oscar nominations for "Ali" and "Happyness."
