Matinees Of Classics At Real Art Ways

If you can't get into a Film Studies 101 class, you can always get into Real Art Ways.

Starting March 4, the Hartford arts venue is presenting a six-week series of weekday matinees of classic films, followed by a lecture by J.D. O'Connor, assistant professor of history of art and film and media studies at Yale University in New Haven.

In the series, "Film Studies 101: Cinema by the Numbers," participants "will learn how to view a variety of classic and contemporary films with a critical eye and engage with the screen on a deeper level," the arts venue says.
