The CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the musical acts that will play at the Riverfront Music Festival on Wednesday evenings, beginning in July.
Leading of will be Melaena on July 11. The party band has existed for more than 40 years, and plays many types of music. Founder Bob Straub said the group evolved from a college band that he and others were in.
"Melaena has been around since 1974," he said. "We had a band, Hithcock Railway, that was our high school band. We were extremely good, but we all decided that we wanted to finish college, so we went our separate ways. Melaena was a derivative of Hitchcock Railway."
