Monkees bring 50th anniversary tour to Genesee

Fifty years after the debut of the Monkees TV series, Peter Tork said the show featuring four offbeat young men in a band had what he called "an extraordinarily, useful message."

And over the years, Tork said some of the Monkees' older fans have told him they looked forward to "a half-hour of happiness once a week" in the throes of the Vietnam War.
