Danny Gokey, a church music director from Milwaukee, is a Top 12 finalist on "American Idol" Season 8. His version of Mariah Carey's "Hero" wowed judges and fans, who picked him to be a semifinalist. Gokey's wife died from a heart condition four weeks before he auditioned in Kansas City. Gokey said on the show that he hopes people can get to know his wife through his performance.
