1. 'The Chronicles of Narnia': A Great Series For Kids

I really, really cherish reading with the boys, even though they have become voracious readers on their own. We started reading "classics" together when they were small: "Peter Pan", "Wind in the Willows" and "Stuart Little". In recent years, we were ethralled by the entire Harry Potter series and loved experiencing the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, huddled together on the white couch in the living room. We laugh at silly parts and discuss complex chapters until we figure them out and talk about the characters we identify with the most.

3. "The Hobbit": Book Vs. Movie

All right, I realize that this blog post is about a month too late...but, we got it into our heads to read J.R.R Tolkien's classic before we headed to the movie theater to see the new-ish 3D extravaganza...yet we didn't have this brilliant idea until the movie came out....hence, the delay.

5. Bringing A Children's Book To Life

Over the last nine years of motherhood, I have had so many important moments with my boys thanks to books. When they were little, we would snuggle together and read board books until the pages were worn. In fact, I recently put a bin of these in the attic, unable to give them away just yet.

A trio of new titles arrived to knock Oscar winners “Django Unchained” and “Silver Linings Playbook” from their reign atop the sales and rentals charts -- among them Tom Cruise’s box-office disappointment “Jack Reacher.” Also, probably because Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” is breaking box-office records in theaters, the company’s 2012 title “The Avengers” is back. Salute to a film legend
Salute to a film legend I suspect that few of today's young moviegoers have ever heard of Ray Harryhausen, who died this week at the age of 92. But to my generation, going to the cinema as a teenager in the 1950s, Harryhausen's films were as revered...
