  • 'Tomorrowland' is a wondrous sci-fi adventure to nowhere

    Disney's "Tomorrowland" is full of spectacular science-fiction visuals and creatively staged action sequences, but don't bother trying to look too far beneath the surface. Director/co-writer Brad Bird ("The Incredibles") and co-writer Damon Lindelof (TV's "Lost") have created an old-fashioned story about a young woman named Casey (Britt Robertson) whose optimistic spirit just may save the future. After being recruited by a girl from the future (keep an eye on the outstanding Raffey Cassidy), Casey meets inventor Frank (George Clooney, bland here, but still boyish), who can take her to the crumbling utopia of Tomorrowland.
