When Pablo Sandoval arrived in Boston early Tuesday, the natives made sure he quickly recognized his new home.
The switch-hitting third baseman was greeted at his introductory press conference at Fenway Park by a fan wearing a mascot-type, oversized panda head.
"It was a tough decision for me," said Sandoval. "This is similar, but the (San Francisco) Giants gave me the opportunity to be in the big leagues. I need a new challenge. I'm happy to be here to show the fans … I came here to be in the postseason again."
