    Canadian director David Cronenberg's most distinctive visual quirk is his tendency to shoot everything with the same lens. Most filmmakers come to the set with four or five lenses; they'll use a telephoto lens for a close-up, a 50mm lens for a medium shot, and so on and so forth.
