    Stand-up Scene: Filling the Just for Laughs void
    Once upon a time each June, hundreds of hilarious people from across the comedy universe descended upon Chicago for a very funny festival called Just for Laughs. In a single week, you could zip from the Chicago Theatre, where Steve Martin would be in conversation with Martin Short, to a raunchy performance by Amy Schumer at the Park West, to a midnight talk fest at the Annoyance starring Paul Provenza and friends. The possibilities were endless and it was a huge blow when the fest announced earlier this year that it would not be returning in 2014. Still, this summer is shaping up to be a promising one. Not only is the Just for Laughs void being filled with other innovative festivals, other big things are happening around town as well.
