Actor Frank Whaley, who is a resident of Redding, will bring one of the films he directed to the Prospector Theater, 25 Prospect St. in Ridgefield, on Sunday, May 22, and do a Q&A after.
All proceeds from the evening will benefit the theater program at John Read Middle School in Redding.
The movie is "Joe the King." The 1999 drama tells the story of a nice but neglected 14-year-old boy who slips into a life of crime. Whaley said in an interview last year that he likes stories about "the loneliness that accompanies childhood."
