  • Not a Comic-Con fan? Try Egyptian Theatre's 'Comma-Con' series

Comic-Con International this week in San Diego is celebrating everything superhero, sci-fi, fantasy and horror. Meanwhile, the American Cinematheque's Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood is counterprogramming the convention with "Comma-Con," a veritable smorgasbord of film genres. The fun begins Wednesday with Sergio Leone's landmark 1966 spaghetti western "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," starring Clint Eastwood. Leave the kids at home for Friday night's double bill — Pier Paolo Pasolini's controversial 1975 "Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom" and Russ Meyer's 1966 classic "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" Stanley Kramer's all-star 1963 comedy epic "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" is on tap for Saturday with Billy Wilder's 1961 satire "One, Two, Three" with James Cagney and his 1964 farce "Kiss Me, Stupid" scheduled for Sunday. And start spreading the news — "Comma-Con" concludes July 15 with Martin Scorsese's lavish 1977 musical, "New York, New York." For more information, go to http://www.americancinematheque.com
