Hartford Schools Pick Firm To Oversee Response To Child Advocate Report

The city public schools have retained an independent monitor, Cross & Joftus, that will oversee Hartford’s plan to correct widespread failures in how the district responds to child abuse allegations when the accused perpetrators are school employees.

The Maryland-based consulting firm will be paid $175,000 to serve in the supervisory role through at least June 2018, school officials said. The city school board approved the contract this week.
