Bloomfield's Nathalie Filler Wins New England Title

Nathalie Filler of Bloomfield birdied her final two holes to win the New England Women's Golf Association championship by one stroke Thursday at Ledgemont Country Club in Seekonk, Mass. "My last two holes were great, but the bogey 5 I made at 16 was huge," she said after shooting a 2-under par 72 to finish 6-under 216. "I hit my second shot, a 7-iron, in the bunker, thinned a shot out of there and ended up making an 8-footer for bogey." Filler, 21, a member of Hartford Golf Club, beat Jacquelyn Eleey (South Shore CC-Hingham, Mass.), who had a 72 for a 217 total.
