UConn Tuition Increase Called Likely For Next Year

STORRS — UConn's chief financial officer said Wednesday that with a $40.2 million deficit looming for the next fiscal year, it is likely that that a tuition increase will be part of the effort to close that gap.

"What we are seeing today is that the university has a lot of financial pressure," said Scott Jordan, UConn's chief financial officer. "We want to remain excellent and even get better, and it is likely that we are going to have to raise tuition in the coming years as we did in our last four-year tuition plan.
