California school cancels student meeting on flag ban over 'viable threats'

UC Irvine administrators have canceled a Tuesday night student meeting after receiving “viable threats” connected to a short-lived decision to remove the American flag and other flags from a student government office lobby. Campus officials said they were taking the threat of violence seriously and, as a precaution, canceled the student meeting.
