PLAINVILLE — Maureen Brummett, Plainville the school district's assistant superintendent for the past five years, will take over the job of superintendent when Jeffrey Kitching leaves next month to lead a regional education advocacy group.
The school board offered her the job after interviewing her earlier this month, board Chairwoman Andrea Saunders said Tuesday.
"The board decided not to go through a superintendent search. Maureen has been our assistant superintendent for nearly six years and has done an excellent job," Saunders said. "The board knew we had an excellent candidate in-house."
