Following practice Tuesday afternoon at the Shenkman Training Center, Bryant Shirreffs unraveled streams of tape from his hands and wrists as he began speaking about his past, present and future.
There were no scrapes or lacerations along his forearms, no visible bruises. He didn't wince, and that is rare. Shirreffs smiled, and that is not rare.
The first question posed was prefaced with something about this being a complicated, perhaps even emotional time, and Shirreffs interjected with his thoughts on the obvious topic — his losing the job as UConn's starting quarterback.
