Former CCSU Professor Charged With Sex Assault

NEW BRITAIN — A former adjunct professor at Central Connecticut State University was arrested Wednesday on charges of sexual assault and unlawful restraint related to an incident involving a student, a university spokesman said Friday. Daniel Thomas Gula was charged by New Britain police with one count each of third-degree sexual assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct, according to court records. He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 23. The incident that led to the charges occurred in September 2014, according to court records.
