On Monday, Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News tweeted, "Realignment source: UConn to ACC could happen as soon as Tuesday." On Wednesday, Mark Blaudschun, formerly of the Boston Globe, wrote on his blog, "The Big Ten could make a run at UConn."...

5. Change will be good for Maryland sports

As the Maryland basketball beat writer for The Sun for more than a decade, I always enjoyed making multiple trips to the state of North Carolina every winter. I saw Len Bias single-handedly give North Carolina its first defeat in a then brand-new Dean Dome. I witnessed the obnoxious Duke students at Cameron Indoor Stadium chanting “CBA ... CBA ... CBA ...” in the direction of future NBA player Walt Williams. I had a front-row seat for more than a few great ACC tournament games.

7. Teel Time: How should ACC respond to Maryland's Big Ten move?

For someone who grew up watching Howard White, Randy White and Lefty Driesell compete in the ACC, seeing the University of Maryland leave the conference for the Big Ten is illogical if not blasphemous. But realignment scoffs at tradition, projected television revenue turns heads and we move on.

13. Retirement: Don't run out of money

Kiplinger's Money Power
Most retirees face the same conundrum: how to spend down assets without completely depleting them. One popular strategy is to apply the 4-percent rule -- withdraw 4 percent of your initial retirement balance and adjust the dollar amount annually to keep...

19. ACC All Access: Where UVa, Virginia Tech stand in pursuit of top RB Derrick Green

When it comes to personal goals, Derrick Green doesn't want much — 3,000 yards rushing in a single season will do just fine. Even suggesting such a lofty mark might seem absurd for most high school running backs, but Green isn't your run-of-the-...

CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. — When Virginia Tech made its last trip to Chestnut Hill, Mass., Larry King was still forgetting callers' names on his weeknight talk show, Barack Obama had far fewer gray hairs midway through his first term and Tech hadn't misplaced the formula for winning Atlantic Coast Conference road games.
