    We recently reported that a beluga whale died at SeaWorld Orlando. Nanuq, an animal in his 30s, had been under intensive veterinary care for weeks for an infection associated with a broken jaw. In a recent column, the Sentinel's Scott Maxwell argued that Nanuq's death is further evidence of SeaWorld's need to evolve. By "evolve," Maxwell appears to mean that SeaWorld should end the zoological display of whales and dolphins.
