The light at the end of the tunnel is finally shining for most people in southwest Virginia. In both Roanoke City and County Appalachian Power has restored power to all but about two hundred customers.

Appalachian Power is asking permission to lower the water level at Claytor Lake.
The power company has aksed the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to start lowering the reservoir level Nov. 7 so residents can perform shoreline maintenance....

Roanoke Fire says damage estimates from last night's fire have increased to $1.5 million.
Appalachian Power says about 100 people who are without power due to the fire should get their power back by 9:30pm.
