1999 SEASON

Va. Tech 47, James Madison 0: On Sept. 4, Michael Vick completes four passes for 110 yards and rushed for 54 yards with three touchdowns. Vick leaves the game in the second quarter after injuring his leg on an acrobatic leap into the end zone.

Va. Tech 31, UAB 10: On Sept. 11, Vick does not play.

Va. Tech 31, Clemson 11: On Sept. 23, Vick returns from his injury and struggles. The freshman throws three interceptions, all inside the Clemson 40-yard line. But Vick and the offense are bailed out by the defense, which scores two touchdowns.

Va. Tech 31, Virginia 7: A star is born. On Oct. 2, Vick throws for 222 yards and a 60-yard touchdown to Andre Davis as the Hokies snap a two-game losing streak to the Cavs.

Va. Tech 58, Rutgers 20: On Oct. 9, Vick leads the Hokies to touchdowns on seven of their first eight possessions. Vick completes 11 of 12 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns and rushes for 68 yards and a touchdown, all in the first half. His four touchdown passes tie a school record.

Va. Tech 60, Syracuse 0: On Oct. 16, Vick passes for 135 yards and throws an 8-yard touchdown pass to Ricky Hall.

Va. Tech 30, Pittsburgh 17: On Oct. 30, Vick leads the Hokies to three second-quarter scores, including a 46-yard TD rush and 37-yard strike to Andre Davis. Vick passes for 170 yards and rushes for 70.

Va. Tech 22, West Va. 20: On Nov. 6, Vick shows off his flair for the dramatic, taking the Hokies 58 yards in the game's final 75 seconds. His 26-yard scramble is possibly the play of the season. Shayne Graham boots a 44-yard field goal as time expires to keep Tech undefeated. On the day, Vick passes for 255 yards and rushes for 50.

Va. Tech 43, Miami 10: On Nov. 13, Vick passes for 151 yards and rushes for 46 as the Hokies overcome a 10-0 deficit for the win.

Va. Tech 62, Temple 7: On Nov. 20, Vick accounts for four touchdowns- two passing and two rushing - as the Hokies clinch at least a tie for the Big East title. Vick scores on a 53-yard run on the game's second play, adds a 75-yard scoring run and adds scoring tosses of 65 and 30 yards. On the day, Vick passes for 171 yards and rushes for 134 yards.

Va. Tech 38, Boston College 14: On Nov. 26, Vick thows two bombs in the second quarter to Davis, one a 69-yard pass and the second a 59-yard toss, as the Hokies cap the third unbeaten season in school history. On the day, Vick throws for 290 yards, rushes for 76 yards and totals four touchdowns.

FSU 46, Va. Tech 29: On Jan. 4, 2000, in the face of a tough FSU defense, Vick passes for 225 yards and rushes for 97 but the Hokies lose the Sugar Bowl and finish the season ranked second, the highest finish in Virginia Tech history.

2000 SEASON

Va. Tech 52, Akron 23: On Sept. 2, Vick throws for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and runs for another 102 yards with two scores, including a 63- yarder.

Va. Tech 45, ECU 28: On Sept. 7 Vick passes for 106 yards and rushes for 13, but Tech's special teams and defense lift the Hokies to a win.

Va. Tech 49, Rutgers 0: On Sept. 16 Vick, playing a little more than a half, rushes for 104 yards and passes for 120 with a touchdown.

Va. Tech 48, Boston College 34: On Sept. 30, Vick makes one of the most exciting plays of his career, going 82 yards for a touchdown as he sets a Big East record for rushing yards by a quarterback (210). He totals 271 yards in offense.

Va. Tech 35, Temple 13: On Oct. 7, Vick passes for 162 yards and rushes for 55 yards in one of the worst games of his career. Vick throws two interceptions, is sacked four times and fumbles three times.
