Joyce Fields, Grace Prillaman and Anne Casey won in singles and doubles to guide Hampton Roads Academy past Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 5-4.

Golf:

Gloucester won the Peninsula District’s third match of the season. The Dukes shot 352 at Kiskiack, beating second-place Menchville by 10 and expanding their overall lead to 37 shots over second-place Warwick and 41 over Menchville.

Kecoughtan’s Chase Thomas won the individual medal by three strokes with a 6-over-par 78.

Girls volleyball:

NSA (1-0) rallied past HRA 22-25, 17-25, 25-23, 25-23, 15-9 behind Caylin Harris' 18 kills, Bridget Murphy's 26 digs and Brooks Gillerlain's 54 assists.

For HRA (3-1), Kellyn DeChirico had 12 digs, 11 kills and six blocks, Leanna Yevak had 30 assists and 10 digs, and Meghan Lee had 18 digs and 11 kills. Bri Underwood dug 18 balls and made nine kills.

Boys volleyball:

Marquise Joseph’s nine kills and 10 aces led Warwick past Peninsula Catholic 25-12, 25-12, 25-6.
