With Tropical Storm Hanna brewing blustery winds at Joe Langston Stadium, a little lamb brought homestanding Norcom to a 33-12 victory over Heritage - junior quarterback Deandre Lamb.

The 5-foot-9 signal caller completed nine of 19 passes for 130 yards and accounted for four of the Greyounds five touchdowns in the victory. His favorite target was senior Rashawn Finney who caught two of the scoring strikes.

The Hurricanes got on the board first on its second series after stopping Norcom (2-0) on downs. Sophomore quarterback Andrew Warren capped a seven-play scoring drive finding Demetrius Craighead on a five-yard fade route. The failed 2-point conversion gave Heritage (1-1) a 6-0 lead with 4:21 left in the first.

Norcom then proceeded to reel off the next 27 points. They answered Heritage's scoring drive with an eight-play drive of its own. Junior running back Anthony Blount accounted for 40 of the 55 yards on the drive in two runs, while Lamb connected with Finney on an eight-yard scoring pass with 35 seconds left to tie the game at 6-all.

After forcing a Heritage fumble on the Hurricanes 36, it only took three plays to push the advantage to 14-6 as Lamb found Demarcus Hoggard on a 13-yard connection down to the 23. On the next play Lamb found Liron Atkins behind the secondary on a 23-yard scoring pass.

Warren threw the first of his two interceptions on Heritage's next play and Norcom responded with a pair of runs by Blount, the last one covering six yards for a 21-6 lead with 7:23 left in the half. For the night he was 5-of-14 for 86 yards and accounted for both scores.

They capped the scoring binge late in the third quarter going on a 95-yard scoring drive with the Lamb to Finney tandem striking again on a 22-yard scoring pass for a 27-6 lead with 1:59 left.

Heritage showed some spunk after that as Craighead returned that kickoff 56-yards down to the Norcom 37. Seven plays later, Warren took a quarterback sneak in from the one on the first play of the fourth quarter to cut the margin to 27-12. On that drive he had a 12-yard scramble for a first down and connected with Sean Maycox on a 17-yard pass down to the Norcom four-yard line.

The Greyhounds' defense came to the rescue of their offense after Norcom fumbled on its first play after that score. On a fourth down and eight from the Heritage 43, Warren connected with Craighead for a pass that would've been a first down but as the ball came to Craighead, junior defensive back Kameron Mack came in contact with Craighead and jarred the ball loose. Norcom took over on downs and proceeded to finish the scoring capping a 57-yard drive on a four-yard connection from Lamb to Carlos Mills with just under four minutes left in the contest.
