The Beautiful Kids Organization is a non-profit organization supporting children suffering with Alopecia.
Alopecia is a disease of the hair follicles which results in loss of hair on the head and eventually the entire body.
Children of all ethnic groups, races, gender and age suffer from this disease. The children are usually withdrawn due to the teasing and other insults that they endure from their peers.
BKO helps them to have a more positive self image and improve their interpersonal skills. BKO also contributes to the Hampton University Research Center for Skin disorders (Skin of Color Research Center - its second annual research symposium is Oct. 7-9, 2011) as they work to find a cure for Alopecia and otherskin disorders.
Join the walk at:
Hampton University Football Stadium
Saturday, September 24, 2011
Time: 8 am - 1 PM
There will also be a tour of the Hampton University Skin of Color Research Center immediately following the Walk.
Fee: $20 per person; $10 for those in groups; alopecia sufferers free
