On Saturday, June 16, the Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) hosts the Hampton Environmental Summit 2012 at the Northampton Community Center. The theme of this year's free event, taking place 10-3 p.m., is "Keeping the Crab in Crab Town."
The summit will serve to educate citizens in Hampton Roads about blue crabs, local aquaculture, water quality, wetland restoration, sea level rise, environmental indicators,

Special guests for the Hampton Environmental Summit 2012 include speakers from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), Virginia Tech Seafood Lab, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, NASA Langley Research Center, and the City of Hampton.

All attendees of The Hampton Environmental Summit will receive a free
lunch of crab bites, North Carolina barbeque, chicken salad, coleslaw, rolls,
and a brownie.
