Our Daily Press colleague who covers Hampton, Robert Brauchle, filed this report on Monday:

A Gloucester-based concrete company is building a plant in Hampton's Copeland Industrial Park.

Rappahannock Concrete Group’s new facility will include 10 to 15 employees. The company is growing and it’s owners see the park as being a viable location to serve its customers, according to a city of Hampton news release.

The industrial park is located along the Hampton/Newport News border just north of Interstate 664.
Rappahannock Concrete also has plants in Newport News, Saluda, New Kent and White Stone.

The company was founded in 1961 and has been based in Gloucester since 1963. It produces ready-mix concrete as well as providing masonry services.

An opening date for the facility has not yet been announced.
