A pedestrian struck by a car Monday has died, according to police.
The collision occurred about 6:30 p.m. on West Putnam Avenue near Western Junior Highway, close to the New York border, Greenwich police said.
The victim has been identified only as a Port Chester, N.Y. man in his 80s, pending notification of next of kin. He was reportedly crossing West Putnam at the intersection when he was struck, and died later at Greenwich Hospital.
The driver remained at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation.
