Police said a Middletown man who struck a pedestrian with his car near the Central Connecticut State University campus has been charges with assault and reckless endangerment after an investigation.
Sergiy Svystun, 30, turned himself in on an arrest warrant Tuesday. He is held on $150,000 bond and was arraigned in New Britain Superior Court Tuesday morning.
Police said Svystun was charged by Newington Police with driving under the influence at the time of the accident.
He now faces additional charges with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and failure to obey a traffic control signal.
