A man police believe struck and killed a pedestrian and then left the scene was arrested Thursday, nearly 10 months after the fatal crash.
William Donofrio, 25, of Shelton was driving a Ford Taurus south on Howe Avenue on May 11 when his car collided with Teresa Glossy, 54, of Shelton, police say.
Glossy was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
An investigation revealed Donofrio cleaned and hid his car immediately after the crash. He was charged Thursday with evading responsibility, tampering with physical evidence and failure to exercise due care to avoid colliding with a pedestrian.
