Snowy start to spring in the Lehigh Valley

The first day of spring had a snowy start in the Lehigh Valley as a snowstorm blanketed the region in white most of the day. Friday's snow began before 9 a.m. and was expected to end around 8 p.m., just as spring officially begins. Friday night's low temperature will be about 32 degrees.  The Friday snow totals are expected to vary throughout eastern Pennsylvania. As of 4 p.m., Werley's Corner recorded the highest snowfall total at 4.8 inches. Lehigh Valley International Airport recorded 4.2 inches of snow, Hellertown had 3 inches, South Allentown had 3.5, Schnecksville had 3, and Forks Township was recording 2 inches.
