A Rockwood Borough man called state police Tuesday afternoon to report that he found that his house guest had heroin stamp bags — and that the man had active arrest warrants from Allegheny County.
The warrants for Angelo Joseph Diantonio Jr., 25, were confirmed, police said. Diantonio has no home address.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, police entered the residence along Broadway Street shortly after the call. They found Diantonio standing at a table with two heroin stamp bags — and one empty one in front of him. Diantonio was taking prescribed Xanax (Alprozolam) from a pill bottle, police said.
An unopened Suboxone sublingual film and large rubber bands were on the table with the stamp bags, police said. The items were on top of an envelope addressed to Mary Diantonio of Pittsburgh with a return name of Angelo Diantonio, according to the affidavit.
Drug paraphernalia items were found on a bathroom sink, police said.
Diantonio was arraigned before on-call Somerset District Judge Ken Johnson on charges of possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia
Diantonio is in Somerset County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled at 11 a.m. May 9 before District Judge Sandra Stevanus of Confluence Borough.
