Paul N. Baldwin, 60, Meyersdale, passed away on into the next life Feb. 9, 2012, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, following a long illness. Born on Sept. 17, 1951 at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., he is the son of the late John Henry Sr. and Elenora Nora (Jones) Baldwin. Preceded in death by brother John Henry Baldwin Jr. and sister Elenora Acevedo. He is survived by his very special cousin and caregiver, Martha Curran and husband William Curran, Meyersdale; son, Paul Baldwin Jr. of Brooklyn; his daughter Tawanna Baldwin of Bethlehem; grandson Marcus Baldwin of Brooklyn; sisters: Josephine J. Baldwin, Spartanberg, S.C.; Alice Gore of Union, S.C.; and twin sisters Edith Baldwin and Evelyn Baldwin, both of Brooklyn; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul graduated high school in Brooklyn and attended City College as well as John Jay College in Brooklyn. Paul had an exciting career in computers for all of his adult life, first working with mainframes and finally transitioning into personal computers. His first job was working for the mayor’s office of the City of New York in the computer department. He worked with and for several brokerage houses in New York, including Shearson Lehman Brothers, and for WBLS radio station in New York. Paul suffered with ill health since his retirement 12 years ago, but he always kept up with his hobbies of computers, music and reading. “To the people we lose in life, we will meet again in Paradise,” by Mary Hardin. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Prodigy Dialysis and Conemaugh Memorial Hospital who touched Paul’s life. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the M.
