It’s fall. The kids are back in school. You’ve done all the fun summer family outings — the zoo, Idlewild Park, the park and maybe even a trip to the beach.
After-school activities have kicked in, but perhaps you are feeling like doing something fun for yourself.
Instructor Dottie Borosky joins us again this fall to teach Beginning/Intermediate Stained Glass. Classes run 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays from Oct. 31 through Dec. 5.
Beginners will create a lamp shade or window hanging. Intermediate students will have the opportunity to choose a project with Dottie’s help.
Joy of Oil Painting is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays from Oct. 8 through Nov. 12, and Dec. 10.
Al Just — a certified Bob Ross instructor — will teach you how to use the Bob Ross wet-on-wet technique while completing a 16 x 20 painting.
Each class will produce a different painting, so you may want to sign up for more than one class.
There is also an ongoing watercolor class which you may join at any time. Amy Kister is the instructor, and the class runs from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays.
Interested in learning how to better compose your photos and use lighting to your full advantage?
Join us from 2 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 8 for a short photo workshop that will help you improve the photos you are already taking. Participants will go on a short photo shoot for hands-on learning (weather permitting).
Join instructor Laura Schrock in October and learn how to make hand-stamped cards with fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving themes.
Class times run from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 11 or 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 12.
In November, the class will be designing and stamping Christmas cards. Choose 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 8 or 9 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 9.
Those of you with children ages 3 to 5 will want to check out Miss Marsha’s Preschool Art Classes.
On Oct. 14, we’ll make some fun Halloween creations in time to decorate for the holiday. Miss Marsha will show us how to recycle a spoon into a spooky witch, a juice box into a mummy, and much more.
Class times are 10 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Miss Marsha and Loretta will host an American Girl Halloween Ball from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Come dressed in costume for an afternoon of fun. Create a matching mask for you and your doll and make other fun Halloween projects. Parents are welcome to attend with their child.
Space for this event is limited, so please reserve your spot early.
All classes are held at the Laurel Arts Education & Dance Center.
