Elaine L. (Ludy) Werner, 76, of Annandale, Va., passed away in the Northern Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, Va., on Nov. 9, 2012. Elaine was born Sept. 16, 1936, on a farm near Glencoe, a daughter of Jacob and Maude (Diveley) Ludy. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers: William, James, Charles, Jacob “Ben”, Frank, Carl, Harry “Bunn”, Victor, and Edwin; and five sisters: Sarah, Elizabeth, Anne, Mary, and Darlene “Kate.” She is survived by her husband Kenneth Werner. They were married Nov. 17, 1956. She is also survived by her daughter Karen Werner Chonko of Annandale, Va., son Kevin Werner and wife Debbie of Berlin, and daughter Ruth Werner and husband Michael Hanley of Manassas, Va., and grandchildren Alyson Werner and Travis Nightingale. She is survived by a sister, Sandra Nicholson and husband Howard of Gallop, N.M., a brother Noah “Tom” Ludy and his wife Shirley “Doll” of Glencoe, and many nieces and nephews. She was a 1954 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. She was a retired secretary from the Fairfax County, Va., schools. She had worked for years at the Post Office in Merrifield, Va., and had also worked as a data processor for the Fairfax Hospital. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Rev. Marlin Miller officiating. Interment Mt.
