Dayton J. Lohr, 90 of Hooversville, died March 13, 2013 at the Presbyterian Home. Born Sept. 17, 1922 in Hooversville the son of David and Rella (Buchanian) Lohr. Preceded in death by parents, infant daughter Patricia Gale, and brothers Gerald, Fred, Morris, and Kenneth. Survived by wife of 67 years the former Mildred Wain and these children: Larry and wife Gloria, Hooversville; Robert, Hooversville; Jacqueline and husband John Cook, Stoystown; Wendy and husband Pete Barnhart, Somerset; and John and wife Tina, Hooversville. Also survived by grandchildren Tanya (Dale) Holsopple, Todd Lohr, Jennifer (Jeff) Cook, Tammy (Shawn) Walker, Lori Barnhart, Breanna (Jim) Halkovich, Tom Lohr, Jessica (Michael) Rodriquez, Tiffany, Stefanni, Keena, Kendra, and Lanyiah Lohr; step-grandchildren Vanessa and Tyler Thomas, and Amanda Hershberger; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Josh, and Jonathan Holsopple, Aubrey, Tia, and Doran Cook, Shaelyn, Shawna, and Shandi Walker, Brody, Jaxson, and Dylan Halkovich, Adelnia and Baby Rodriquez; and step-great-granddaughter Mikayla Thomas. Brother of Zella Naugle, Michigan; Geniva Brant, Janet Gindlesperger, and Jean Thomas, all of Hooversville; and Jerry Lohr Waynesboro. Dayton was a member of the St. Thomas Lutheran Church where he served on the Cemetery Association. He was a retired US Steel worker and dairy farmer. He was a member of the Allied Milk Producers and a life member of the Holstein Association. Dayton was a W.W. II Army Veteran. Family receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc., Davidsville, and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church Hooversville. Pastor Nila Cogan officiating.
